Almighty God, Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending; You are worthy to be praised, we thank You for life, health, strength and for being with us all these days since the last time we met for the Holy Communion Service, Father, accept our thanks in Jesus’ name. Lord God Almighty, please, be with us again this evening and do something new in all our lives, in Jesus' mighty name we have prayed.
THE MESSAGE
TEXT - Matthew 18:20
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
I’m believing God that this evening’s Holy Communion Service will bring tremendous changes into the lives of everyone of us in Jesus’ name. The Holy Communion Service is a very special one; the meal that we take at the Holy Communion is not for hunger, it is for something far more significant. Because it is written in 1 Corinthians 11:33-34, that when you come together for Holy Communion, you should wait for the others and it is said specifically, if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home before he comes because the eating that is done at the Holy Communion is not for satisfying physical hunger.
THE PURPOSES OF THE HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE
1.To remember Jesus Christ the Lord because He kept on saying, as often as you do this, do it in remembrance of me.
2.To teach us the power of communion; to help us tap into the power that is in communion.
3.To remember the things Christ said before He left us.
For example, He told us before He left in Matthew 18:19, He said, if two of you shall agree as touching anything you ask on earth, it shall be given you by Your Father in heaven. We will be praying some very serious prayer in agreement tonight. Then He also said in the text that we read, Matthew 18:20, where two or three are gathered together in my name, I will be in their midst. That is a very wonderful promise; when we gather together at the table of the Lord, we might not see Him, but He is present. He will be with us symbolically in body as we are breaking the bread 1 Corinthians 11:23-24 and in the spirit because as we drink the wine that represents His blood, we are saying by faith the Lord is with us in the spirit, 1 Corinthians 11:25.
TWO ARE BETTER THAN ONE.
Ecclesiates 4:9-12, the Bible says, two are better than one because they have a great (good) reward for their labour. Two in agreement (communion) are superior to one.
Deuteronomy 32:30, if one chases a thousand, two can put ten thousand to flight, in other words, the victory of one person is multiplied ten folds the moment he can get the second fellow to be in agreement, that is why the prayer of agreement is so powerful; if two of you are praying concerning one thing it will be as if there are ten voices crying to God for one thing. The prayer of agreement is extremely effective particularly during the Holy Communion Service because the prayer of agreement that you pray during Holy Communion is a “local call.”
Local call; if you want to phone London from Nigeria, there are certain figures you must dial before you dial the figure of the person in London but if you want to make a local call in Nigeria, the number of figure you dial are fewer and the distance between you and the fellow you are calling determine how quickly the connection can be made.
God says where two or three are gathered in my name i will be there; the One you are calling during Holy Communion is already present.
It's like you bringing heaven down to earth; it is as if the fellow you are asking to do something for you is sitting by your side. It is as if the fellow you are expecting to perform a miracle for you is already seated with you at the table and that is why you don't take holy communion with anyone you don't know.
YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
God called believers light and unbelievers darkness.
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
You can't take holy communion with unbelievers, it is forbidden, it is a sacred meal, the Lord is present with you at the table, you might not see Him but He is there. That is why I want to appeal to you seriously, in your home, take time and look around you, consider your children that are not born again, persuade them urgently to give their lives to Christ because the holy communion is for believers alone. It is not an ordinary meal, that is why we have always counsel; when you go out and people want to take Holy Communion and you don't know who they are, you should excuse yourself.
There is power in the Holy Communion to heal and kill because it is written, if you take this meal unworthily, you might be sick or die. If you take it worthily as you are breaking the bread, you are applying the healing stripes of the Lord Jesus Christ and you can chase sickness and disease out of your body.
I will bow my head in prayer to give you an opportunity to talk to the members of your family to surrender to Jesus. This is a crisis point, you know what is going on in the world. The Holy Communion of tonight will bring about tremendous changes in the lives of all individuals.
PRAYER FOR SALVATION.
Saviour, go into all the homes now and let Your saving power begin to move mightily in the lives of those who are yet to be converted, let them see the need (the urgency) for their salvation, please Lord, let them surrender their lives, don't let them hesitate, i decree that the devil will lose his hold on those who are hesitating that they may surrender their lives to You today. Thank You my Father; thank You because i believe it is done, glory be to Your holy name, in Jesus’ mighty name.
Father, I'm praying here that the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ will flow in all the homes where they are listening to me now and wash away the sins of all those who have decided to surrender to you now, save their souls. Father, I decree that the devil will lose his hold on those who are hesitating that even now as i’m praying, they will surrender their lives to You and You will save their souls.
In all the homes my Father and my God, let Your saving power become mightily manifest so that all those who would have been lost will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and as they surrender to You Father, receive them into the family of God; save their souls and give them a brand new beginning.
I pray Lord God Almighty that we will hear mighty testimony, thank You my Father, in Jesus’ mighty name we have prayed.
AS YOU TAKE THE BREAD, PRAY -
Remind the devil that your body is the body of the Holy Spirit and that there can be no communion between the temple of God and any forces of darkness at all, so as you take the bread, you are going to command and demand that everything that is not of God in your body should get out because it is written, Jesus said it before He left, every plant that my Father has not planted shall be rooted up. Remind the devil, sickness and pain in your body that, your body is the temple of the Almighty God, sickness you have no place in my body; pain and ache can't stay in my body.
WHEN THEY SERVE YOU THE WINE AND IT'S TIME TO DRINK -
Invite the Holy Spirit to invade you afresh; Holy Spirit, flood me completely with Your light and power.
I’m using the bread here as the point of contact for all the bread that will be shared, I'm deceering in the name that is above every other name that the same anointing that is on this bread will be spread to every bread that will be used tonight so that as you eat it, it will locate every plant that God has not planted in your body and chase it out.
The wine here will be used as a point of contact for every wine that will be served this evening so that as you drink, the Holy Spirit will invade your entire system and fill you with power from above, in Jesus’ mighty name we have prayed.
The Lord Jesus Christ, the very night he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, broken for you: do this in remembrance of me, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
As you drink the wine, cry to the Almighty God that the Holy Spirit will fill you anew to overflowing with His power and anointing.
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER OF AGREEMENT.
1. Father, we are in agreement that this very moment any form of plague or virus will never come near our homes.
2. Father, we are in agreement that when we go out and come in, we shall be safe; we will not contract any virus, we won't bring evil to our homes. We will go out and return in peace. We will go out in peace and return in peace.
3.Father, we are in agreement that this virus (coronavirus) will get out of our countries.
CLOSING PRAYER
Father, we want to say thank You for tonight, thank You for an opportunity to gather together at Your table, thank You for the power of communion, please, accept our thanks in Jesus’ name.
Lord, please, grant the request of Your children.
I join my faith with theirs Lord, I'm in complete agreement with them, even as they have asked so let it be done, thank You my Father and my God, in Jesus’ mighty name we have prayed.
