KEY TO LEADING IN HIS POWER AND GLORY GENESIS 17:1
*Commitment is taking the first step forward and pushing through the obstacle to make your passion a reality. Taking a small step with conviction. Living according to the teaching of Jesus Christ. Judges 6:12. The ability of God will stir you to lead well in Jesus name.
Three ways/degrees of commitment
What are you committed to?
What are you willing to die for?
What can you give everything for?
What are the things you won’t stop doing?
1. Commitment in integrity 2 Peter 3:14
(a) Commitment is maintaining integrity, you need to be transparent to maintain integrity, open to correction and living what you believe in.
(b) You need to forgive those who hurt you. Hebrews 12:14-15, Hebrews 4:11, 2 Chronicles 20:4. Avoid bitterness, it will choke your heart for God and love for people
(c) Commitment to be a blessing and an encourager build people around you. Romans 14:19 - build people, don’t look at discouragement focus on potentials.
(d) Commitment to be a peacemaker and promote unity. Ephesians 4:3
(e) Commitment to grow, increase and develop 2 Peter 1:5-8 develop learning lifestyle, God is looking for your availability not ability.
FAT - faith, available and teachable.
You need to add something to your life to lead. You need to grow to lead other people to grow. Where do you need to grow? What do you need to learn? How do you get the training needed?
2. Degree of your commitment to lead in power and glory
(a) Time - what percentage of time do you give to God in worship, prayer and reading the word of God? Spend time with what matter.
(b) Relationship - How much time do you spend and invent in relationship?
How much time do you spend with those who belong to you?
What do you do together?
Anyone you spend time with will define what you are committed to.
(c) Money - where do you spend your money? If you are committed to God how much do you spend for God?
HOW TO DEVELOP INTIMACY WITH CHRIST
1. Demonstrate your commitment by intimacy with Christ.
Daily prayer, reflection on the bible, don’t allow offence to come between you and others. Learn from the scripture and receive guidance on how to lead people. Spend time alone. Follow the footsteps of Jesus.
2. Passionate and yieldedness to the Holy spirit. Demonstrate your total commitment by your intimacy with Christ.
Be passionate and yield to the Holy spirit. Mark 1:35-39 Luke 4:43, John 4:31-34, Acts 2:32-41, John 6:33
3. Servant leadership - follow Christ commandments and examples. Matthew 20:26-26 Allow team work and be disciplined in all areas. Allow teamwork in the ministry. Please God and let God advertise you.
Live for Jesus 1Timothy 3:8-12. Titus 1:5-9 Be of good behaviour not greedy for money, not giving to wine and not quick temper but self control.
4. Hold the word of God and have good reputation outside the church. 1 Peter 2:9
5. Take risk - dare the assignments and challenge your life with large goals.
6 Be a team worker, player and builder.
***Commitment to making disciples. Matthew 28:19-20, John 14:6, John 1:14, Acts 2:42
Personal operation of the Holy spirit can maintain a miracle. Leading in His power and glory begins with God’s calling, to lead in power and glory- desire to serve and discover gifts that qualify you to serve - Daniel 1:8 prayer and personal intention. Increase the tempo of your commitment. The key operation will make it possible to do the impossible.
How committed are you to the Lord and RCCG?
