THE COVENANT OF RICHES AND WEALTH

*TOPIC: THE COVENANT OF RICHES AND WEALTH*
*TEXT: Deut 8:6-18*

*PREACHER:* Pst. Amos Busari

Riches and wealth in this context refer to valuable spiritual, physical, material and financial possessions. So, if the possession of a man is not valuable especially in the sight of the Almighty, it is not true riches, it is not true wealth. Therefore, covenant of riches and wealth is a binding agreement between God and His children with the purpose of producing riches and wealth valuable/useful for His kingdom on earth and His children.

*IMPLICATIONS OF THE COVENANT*
-From the 18th verse of bible passage, the first thing Moses told the Israelites was; *“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God”*. What does it mean to remember? To *remember* is to *constantly* be *conscious* of the relevance of a thing or person in one’s life. The moment you accept God as the *Relevant *Constant* in your quest for riches and wealth; He releases them into your life. To *remember* the Lord is also to remain connected to the *SOURCE* of riches and wealth.

-Moses’ second statement was; *“for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth”*. This is to say that as long as you stay connected to the *SOURCE*, the power needed for getting/creating wealth is injected into you and *‘you’* in this statement means from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. This reminds me of a young lady I met at the cyber café who plugged her phone to a power outlet for charging but kept returning at intervals to unplug the phone in order to make a call or browse; when she finally settled down to wait for the phone to charge, she started complaining after about 30mins telling the owner of the café “your power supply is not strong here, my phone battery is still very low”. The owner simply replied her “your phone can never charge to full capacity with you unplugging it severally”. Most Christians are like this; we get connected to the *SOURCE* of power at salvation but we keep unplugging our lives from Him in order to quickly fulfill one fleshy desire or the other and this causes power drainage or outage in us. Please tell the person beside you “stay plugged in God”!

-With the above in place, the covenant of wealth is enacted, *“that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day”*.

*HOW DOES GOD GIVE US POWER TO MAKE WEALTH?*
Having discovered that our connectivity to God makes the power needed for wealth creation available to us and that this power is injected into every part of our being, it then follows that:
1. He can anoint your head (mind) with wealthy ideas, to think what others are not thinking: Exd 31:1-5. When you are able to think what others are not thinking, you produce what they cannot produce and this brings wealth to you. God’s hand came on Bezaleel’s head and he started inventing what Israel needed. I used to know and pastor a devoted widow who was so poor that she always went to refuse sites to pick what peopled had dumped in order to feed her children but one day, the hand of the Lord came upon her so heavily that she started to imagine shoes, bags, bracelets etc made from dumped nylon materials. She started picking these nylon materials and producing the things she imagined and selling them to people, that widow is in great wealth today. May the hand of God come upon your head now in Jesus Name. Psalms 23:5b

2. He can anoint your eyes to see what others are not seeing. In that office, that market and amongst your contemporaries, like Caleb and Joshua, may you begin to see avenues of wealth that others are not seeing in Jesus Name. Numbers 13:33, 14:24.

3. He can anoint your ears to hear what others are not hearing. While Ahab was still hearing the sound of scarcity, Elijah heard the sound of abundance of rain. 1kings 18:41. I was recently in an organization to update my info when suddenly the Lord opened my ears to hear the manager complaining to one of her subordinates “we are going to lose this client if we don’t get somebody to help us with these translations”. I approached her because it was my area of specialization; she looked at me as if to say “who told you?”, but because she was desperate, she gave me the job. I pray for you, from now, may you begin to hear secrets that will bring you wealth in Jesus Name. Ps 29:4, Isa 30:21.

4. He can anoint your hands to do what others are not doing and to prosper in such; Ps 18:34, Ps 1:3.

5. He can anoint your mouth to say what others are not saying, that is, to say the right words that will bring wealth into your life and family. Proverbs 24:26, 12:25 and 16:1.

6. He can anoint your legs so that they receive speed to carry you to your places of wealth; to enter places others cannot enter. 2Kings 7:5-8, 18:46, Ps 119:105 and Prov 23:2.

*WHO WILL THE LORD GIVE WEALTH? Psalms 35:27.*
-Those who will sincerely favour and support His righteous projects. When He sees your desire to favour and support His projects, He makes wealth available to you.
-Those who will truly serve Him with their substance (money and other possessions), time and life.
If you are here today and you haven’t given your life to Jesus Christ, your journey to true riches and wealth starts from your connectivity with Him because He is the *SOURCE* of true riches and wealth.
