*TOPIC: COVENANT OF MERCY AND PARDON*

*TEXT: Romans 9: 13-16*

*Message*

This year, if you want that *reproach* to be taken away from your life, change your *APPROACH!* Your approach to: service, word study, prayer and your relationship with God/people. God hears every prayer but He doesn’t answer every prayer. God will never go against His person, principles and covenant; that is impossible! We need to be a covenant people practically serving the covenant keeping God this year.

*Covenant is a binding agreement between 2 or more parties, sealed with a token for mutual benefits.*

*Mercy means qualified judgment nullified*

*Mercy means deserved judgment deleted*

*Mercy means overlooking a person’s errors*

*Mercy means qualifying a person’s disqualification*

*Mercy means willingness to help*

Everything God does and is still doing is wrapped up in His mercy.

The journey to greatness can be very difficult outside the mercy of God.

*Pardon means forgiveness*

Covenant of mercy and pardon therefore is a bidding agreement between you and God with the purpose of emitting mercy and pardon to the world.

The Bible describes the mercy of God this way:

*1.*God’s mercy is GREAT. Isa 54:7

No mess in your life is too great for God’s mercy.

*2.*The mercies of God are SURE. Isa55:3

God’s mercy is constant, always there but you must come under it.

*3.* God’s mercy is ABUNDANT. 1Pet1:3

God can never run out of mercy! There is enough for everybody!

*4.*The mercies of God are described as TENDER. Psalm25:6

God’s care for us is expressed through His mercy.

*5.*God’s mercy is obtainable via the right approach. Heb 4:16

*6.*The mercies of God are NEW every morning. Lam3:22-23.

It is never outdated! It does not expire! It is *NEW* every morning!

Nothing can escape God’s mercy because it is renewed every morning!

  

*CASE STUDY*

Without mercy, life will be a mess. What gives meaning to life is the mercy of God.

Esther 2:15 – 17 “now it was the TURN OF ESTHER”

Don’t envy or be afraid of people who have gone ahead of you. The fact that they are ahead of you does not mean they would get there before you. Before the end of this year, God will give speed to your feet. Life is a mystery solved by God’s mercy!

It is not your make-up that makes you up (ladies). Being on Facebook does not put your face in the book – the king loved Esther above all the women. Vashti vacated.

*Whoever is occupying your place in destiny will vacate now in Jesus Name!* 

When Esther appeared before the King, something went ahead of Esther, it is God’s *MERCY*.

*Among all your competitors, mercy will put you in a class of your own!*

It is not just your location; it is God that gives you allocation by His mercy. Put a covenant child of God anywhere on this earth and leave him/her with God’s mercy, he/she will prosper. Psalm 52:8.

Without mercy, after graduation, a graduate can be grounded. Don’t leave your house anyway without asking for the mercies of God.

When mercy is speaking for you, your life cannot be explained- people can’t understand how it works. Parents, what gives success to your children is not just the money you have spent on them, it is mercy. It is not who you know that matters. It is not everyone that got to the top that struggled to get there- mercy speaks. In this life, one great constant we need is the mercy of God.

*10 Things God’s Mercy Can Do For You Esther 2:15 – 17*

*1.*You will be preferred above others

*2.*Mercy makes your life attractive. It is a divine magnetic force that adds attractiveness to everything you do. It draws the right kind of people to you

*3.*Mercy singles you out of the crowd

*4.*Mercy links your path with your helpers, those that will bless and assist you. Psalm 118:7 KJV

*5.*Mercy commands supernatural favour. Mercy precedes favour. Favour will not come until God has had mercy on you. Psa 102:13

*6.*Mercy gives you access into places you ordinarily couldn’t enter before

*7.*Mercy covers your errors – you will make mistakes but they won’t notice it. May mercy overrule your errors

*8.*Mercy prevails over deserved judgment James 2:13.

*9.*Mercy gives you divine settlement – your parents can be there, but can’t take you there

*10.*Mercy silences your adversaries. John 8:3-11

Mercy humiliates your adversaries. It makes them change their testimonies about you. There are people around you called *fault-finders* or *council of accusers*. They publicise and announce your mistakes.

*Those that wait for the day of your shame will be disappointed in Jesus Name!*

The opposite of *Mercy* is *Unforgiveness*.

*Characteristics Of Unforgiveness*

-Bitterness

-Wickedness

-Rumour peddling/gossip

-Conspiracy

Please don’t entertain an unforgiving spirit.

*How The Covenant Works: Matt 5:7*

Partner with God and be a mercy giver. Forgive your offenders!

If you are here this morning and you haven’t surrendered your life to Christ, you need to do so first, before you can enter into a covenant with Him.

*Prayer Points*

*1.*Father! Thank you for your mercy.

*2.*Father! Every judgment hanging over my life, nullify by your mercy in Jesus Name.

*3.*Father! Let every error of my past that has brought me into bondage be corrected and the effects removed by your mercy in Jesus Name.

*4.*Father! Wherever I have been disqualified, qualify me by your mercy in Jesus Name.

*5.*Father! By your mercy, let people be willing to help me from today in Jesus Name.

*6.*Father! From today, help me to forgive my offenders in Jesus Name.

*7.**COVENANT DELARATION:* Father! I enter into a covenant of Mercy & Pardon with You today, help me to be faithful to it and release the blessings of this covenant into my life on a daily basis from now in Jesus Name!
